Hi,
Please note that all servers are currently being upgraded to the latest kernel and will have to be rebooted shortly.
Most servers should be back up within a few minutes. However some servers may require a filesystem check which can delay them from coming back up for upto 1 hour in some cases.
We hope there is minimal inconvenience caused.
All of our servers were upgraded successfully.
However, Server17 was not coming back online after the kernel upgrade, and upon direct console examination, there are problems with the partitions mounting correctly.
This is under investigation right now, and we're trying to see if we can fix the problems. If worst comes to worst, we'll have to install a new server, and salvage data from our backups.
It is very unfortunate that this had to occur, but it was out of our control. We will try and get Server17 back online as soon as we can.
Unfortunately our initial attempts to bring this server back up by fixing its broken system has failed, and we will now try to salvage the data from the secondary backup drive. Please bear with us whilst this is done.
The server has been reloaded with a fresh OS, and is currently completing it's initial server setup. We'll then start the data restoration process.
Backups are being restored right now.
All user account backups have now been restored and everything is back up and running as normal.
The GD issue has been resolved(as you can see from the image in the above post working now!) after a full recompile of Apache/PHP and its standard set of modules.
If there are any server related issues left, please update this thread with what you think the problem is or the error you are receiving. If anyone has any account specific issues, then please raise this as a support ticket at the Helpdesk.
We are very sorry for any inconvenience this downtime caused and sincerely hope it does not happen again. As servers are the combination of hardware which can fail, and software which can fail, there will inevitably be these kinds of issues with all hosting providers from time to time.
We hope you appreciate that this problem could happen to any server, and hope you are happy with the manner in which we worked to resolve this problem.
All server issues are now resolved including the email issues some customers reported - thank you for the heads up Phree & Bucko!
As stated earliler, for any individual account issues please now submit a support ticket at the
Helpdesk.
