Hi all,

Just trying to get some feedback regarding Control Panels.

I have used cPanel / WHM in the past - It's pretty vast and has such a vast number of options which to be honest, to a newbie (at the time) really put me off!

I tried DA. Much better layout - OK may not be as feature-rich but does the job.

Thinking about going VPS with Siterollout and still trying to decide what CP. cPanel is a little more expensive than DA for a VPS..

Certainly DA for the end user, is far more intuitive than cPanel.

What am I missing out on?

Look forward to any thoughts & feedback.

I love Direct Admin and although I used cPanel a few years back, I have been sticking to DA like glue for a long time now and I couldn't face going back.
The main advantage DA has in terms of running a VPS is that it doesn't mess around with the Linux config of your server quite as much as cPanel which means you can still treat your VPS as a dedicated linux box without worrying quite so much about breaking the control panel.
The Direct Admin forum is also an excellent place to learn the ropes and has a nice community feel about it.
The only down side is that potential customers quite often insist on cPanel as it's what they're used to. Some you can convert, some you can't! :-)

Thanks for the feedback. To me, DA looks less messy. So to someone starting out - it's easy to navigate! I just don't like cPanel. I have used it and tried it.. but as soon as I saw and started using DA - That was the CP for me! :-)
